BST: Ambitious self-evaluation for schools

BST is a simple, powerful, exciting new resource to support school leaders to put ambition front and centre of self-evaluation in school.

Why BST?

The BST process enables school leaders to articulate their ambition for pupils in their school and identify clear processes that will bring this from vision to reality. This approach to self-evaluation places ambition at the centre of your thinking. Used wisely, it will complement your current monitoring and evaluation work. It will enable you to distil evidence about your provision and see how well it matches up to your stated ambition.

Three elements of BST

The BST approach consists of 3 linked elements: the SEF template, the handbook and the BST audit tool.

Handbook

The handbook guides you through the template, prompting you to consider pertinent aspects of your school’s provision with links to useful and current online content.

Our team is on hand to assist you at every step of your journey with self-evaluation.

Template

The template provides you with a structured framework underpinned by the EIF for your self-evaluation. The process enables you to clearly identify priorities. It deliberately places your ambition front and centre.

There are versions for Primary, Secondary and All Through schools.

Audit

The online audit enables you to reflect on your evaluation work based on the evidence gathered in the template.

The subsequent report generated provides helpful prompts for areas which you have identified as less effective.
